Sen. Mike Gravel's interview today on CNN with Wolf Blitzer was SUPER !!!
Mike was effectively telegenic and telepathic.
His statements spoke to the center of the storm. He knows fully that a political leader is also a teacher. He knows the challenges America struggles with are extremely complex and often too controversial to address all at once in one day. Similarly, a responsible medical instructor doesn't start the introductory class out the first week with dissecting cadavers or participating in major surgeries.
Mike knows fully the old joke about Congress being the opposite of Progress... and he knows how to sail that old rotten boat safely through the storm... don't drive it too fast and hard because the goal is getting back to safe harbor without popping planks and blowing up the engine.
Despite all of the hotbutton buzzwords like "Osama binLaden" the pundits like to pitch, Mike would rather accentuate the positive interesting news going on in a predominantly vibrant dazzling healthy world while not letting a global mental-health crisis spoil the fun. Yet he's not naieve to the full extent of the struggles associated with militarism and agression.. and will leverage the wisdom of his years to bring the gift of Peace.
[and if he doesn't gitter done I'll feed him to the bears] ...(;-P)
