From the Washington Post (why am I not surprised):
Former Sen. Mike Gravel (Alaska):
People don't like angry in their presidential candidates. And, "angry"
typified Gravel's performance last night. Gravel called Biden
"arrogant", said he felt like a "potted plant" because of the lack of
questions directed to him. Taking a cue from Ronald Reagan, Gravel also
said that he would forgive the other candidates on stage for their
youth and inexperience. Last time we checked Gravel was an asterisk in
any and all polling. Don't be shocked if this is the only debate Gravel
is asked to participate in.
- I'm angry. Mike is angry. Being an American---with all of the BS that's going on---how in the hell could you NOT be pissed the [self-censored] off?!
- Biden is arrogant. What's wrong with the truth being told?
- Mike was shafted with the amount of time he was allotted. At the start I had no idea who he was (probably just like most people didn't). After his first question, I wanted to hear more and was pissed that we didn't get more.
- Asterisk? That's what happens when you don't have a crapload of money for your campaign and you're too truthful for the MSM and MIC. Check now, the asterisk should be gone. Mike words consist of truthfulness, not truthiness.
- The hell he won't be in any more debates! Not if we have any say in the matter...
I really hope the next "debate" is really a *DEBATE* in which everyone can be heard.

I am SICK and TIRED of the media trying to tell us what to think, what we "want" and how to act. They have it all wrong. They are collectively trying to take away free-thought by their inferences and reaching generalizations. I will not stand for it. Let us never forget the words of Edward R. Murrow: Edward R. Murrow: To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires and lights in a box. Good night, and good luck.
"You're not smart enough to decide for yourself"
Submitted on April 30th, 2007 by eshornockFrom an article in the NY Daily News, which to me is an example of the media telling us "what we (the readers) think".
A profound security threat? Like Iraq's WMDs, right? If we treat other countries as equals, as Mike Gravel says, we won't have any of those "threats" against our security. Everyone in the world is just like us. "No contradiction" my ass!
"That he..." Nice start for a sentence. In any case, why isn't that article advertised as an "editorial"? There aren't many facts, but there's a lot of telling us what to think.
I know I'm preaching to the choir but this is the crap that seriously pisses me off about the MSM. Just tell us what happened and let US decide for ourselves what it all means.
Great point about the media.

I'm glad there are people like Gravel left in this world. He gives me hope, in this cruel world of lies and constant media coverage of death, terror, and insanity.
I'm going to help out any ways I can. If Mike Gravel is reading this, let it be known that no matter what happens, he has restored hope in many ppl whom will one day make the world a better place.
God bless a man who can bring hope to the ppl who really need it.

You might want to give The National Initiative a Try !
Submitted on May 2nd, 2007 by pacomTake a look at The National Initiative : www.ni4d.us
1. You think of a remedy to concentration of the media.
2. You put it in writing.
3. You submit it to an Internet process ran by a National Trust.
4. If they like your idea , they conduct a poll and discussion.
5. If The People like your idea , it is put on an open ballot.
6. If enough of The People favor your idea , it becomes a CitizenOrder.
7. I am not up to speed as to who enforces the CitizenOrders.
You got any ideas ?
