That unusual demonstration can only come from the United States. President Obama can earn his Nobel Prize even before it is awarded later this year by calling for the unilateral withdrawal of all US forces from South Korea as prelude to the beginning of “grand bargain” negotiations and thereby demonstrate irrevocably the commitment of all parties to the security of North Korea. Such a demonstration just might push the “grand bargain” to become a reality.
I am afraid that Barack The 800 Million Dollar Man Obama is just the man he always said he was : an American imperialist. A Woodrow Wilson. And that he will heed the cries of naïveté that come from the "analysts" so heavily invested in the status quo and in the aggressive warfare that US foreign policy has devolved to.
I see no hope of change for Barack No Change Obama, the Peace Prize recipient escalating robotic warfare against the poorest people on our planet, but to the contrary, a serious redirection of all resources not directly claimed by his patrons on Wall Street to the military, and to more aggression in Central Asia.
Our only hope at this point is direct democracy : to run as individuals for seats in our House and Senate and then, not only to end the hemorrhage of our financial lifesblood at the Treasury to Wall Street and to the Pentagon, but to restructure our democracy to replace the levers of power in our hands and keep them there. Just as Mike has been advocating since before I first heard him again, in Carolina, telling the truth about the aggression In Iraq to Barack Obama and Clinton II at the Democratic debate there, as he had thirty years before about the aggression in Vietnam.

warfare against the poorest people on our planet - how are those who profit from this able to reconcile themselves enough to sleep at night - yet- somehow they not only do that - they do worse
the answers to these inhumanities no longer lay within America's grasp - only the causes of them do
