' Most Presidential candidates adapt their message after they win their party nomination, but Mr. Obama isn't merely 'running to the center.' He's fleeing from many of his primary positions so markedly and so rapidly that he's embracing a sizable chunk of President Bush's policy. Who would have thought that a Democrat would rehabilitate the much-maligned Bush agenda? '
' Many of us who have criticized Obama are being dismissed as cynics, but that's nonsense. The truth is that the left Obama supporters have projected their own values onto their candidate and are trying to make him out to be something that he is not. They put words in his mouth so they can continue to hold on to the crazy notion that the system really isn't broken and that it can be fixed by simply pulling a lever on election day. '
I am "cautiously optimisic" that the "perfect storm" will hit in November.

' President Bush - backed by Republicans in Congress - wanted to ensure that firms which had helped his administration would not be liable for prosecution.
Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama voted in favour of the measure.
"I wouldn't have drafted the legislation like this," said Mr Obama, in a statement on his website.
However, he added, "in a dangerous world, government must have the authority to collect the intelligence we need to protect the American people". '
It would be a "dangerous world" for corporations if an unknown, unowned, quantity - like say, Mike Gravel - ever got into power in the USA. So they were prepared to invest a few hundred million up front for "insurance" against "untoward" things happening to them.
And Obama is their water boy.
The only people who might be surprised by any of the record number of turn-around, about-faces Obama's taken since his "victory" in the primaries are the folks who pulled so heavily on his pipe and supported "Change" with out changing.
And they're not surprised, they're still in denial. Obama's still their fair-haired lad.
The people who voted for George Bush are responsible for the last eight years and the people who vote for Obama will be responsible for the next eight... if there are enough addicts in denial to actually elect him.

I can only imagine people curling up and waiting for the next low blow from the shysters who are running this country and the rest of the world.
Do they ever stop to realize there is not enough in this world to please anyone, let alone everyone, and that the thing that makes existence tolerable is not a pyramid style scheme of becoming wealthly, but the scheme of honesty and fairness?
The true concept of fairness is probably lost on the 'sleepwalking' citizen - i would gamble that if a public poll were taken on the subject a la Studs Terkel's "Working" publication (he published a book based entirely on random interviews with the general public quoting their concept of what 'working' meant) ... that basic fairness could not be well described.
People seem content to claw their way to the top - a trip that takes them to only one place - the place where all that remains to do is look down upon others.
There isn't enough sand to make 2 television tubes for everone in this world, there isn't enough oil for everyone to own a car, there isn't enough food to nourish the hungry, including most of the zombies who think they are on their way to the top. I'd love to hear their description of fairness.

Submitted on July 10th, 2008 by HitsumeiI'm not surprised that Obama voted for this law.
What bothers me is the number of people who buy into Obama's lies...even phds are buying into this fraud and refuse to see that he's a clone of Bush.
I can imagine historians writing about the "Obama hoax" in future schoolbooks.
