Political Odyssey in Bookstores Now!

Haven’t had time to read any of Mike’s books cover-to-cover, but at a glance, this is the best of the bunch.
I own all three of Gravel's recently published works and am looking forward to sinking my chops into this one the most. Initially I was afraid the Senator had gone the way of fellow candidates and hired a ghostwriter to make a quick buck. While Gravel admits co-writer Joe Lauria did a lion’s share of writing, this is clearly a labor of love on the part of both men. Personal anecdotes, archived photos, and sage political wisdom abound.

I’m not one to hawk goods of any kind, but if you’re a Gravel devotee, this is  definitely worth picking up.

I agree that this book is

I agree that this book is full of wisdom. It paves the path for anyone who seeks to fight militarism.

The description of the release of the Pentagon Papers and the history of the MIC in the US impressed me, I was happy to read about Gravel's youthful idealism, his desire for social justice, the impact of his environment, his education, the life lessons he learned...

It's a very uplifting book, and I recommend it.

The book made me realize that I'm not a hopeless case. Maybe I can overcome the occasional feelings of pessimism, anxiety, feelings of discouragement and lack of self-confidence (it's better than in January, but I'm still working on that front...I've been told that I have the intellect and the morality to succeed in politics, but I need to be more emotionally mature.) so that I can help in the fight against the MIC. I don't want to give up because I truly want a better world and a more peaceful planet.

I'm a geology major, but the more I look at things, the more I realize that many things seem interconnected with politics (yes, even geology when one sees how local governments ignore the warnings of geologists or when theocrats want to prevent me from studying Darwin and fossils...even climate change is an important part of geology). So I can't give up. I just need to learn how to have some self-confidence and perseverance so that I can succeed in achieving my dreams.

A friend of mine once told me that one will always be able to move forward when he or she preaches love towards other human beings. So maybe there is genuine hope for the future.

I'm an altruist, and I really want to reduce the distress in this world.

I wrote a review on the Barnes & Noble website.

Your assessment is

Your assessment is absolutely correct, Indepedent_Patriot.  Though I have not yet read Kingmakers, I can say that A Political Odyssey is a truly thrilling read.  I got through all of it in one day and couldn't pull myself away.  The writing, the content, the anecdotes, it's just a fantastic book worthy of widespread success.

ATTENTION:  Anyone who has read Political Odyssey, please post a review at Amazon!  I posted mine last night.  The more reviews there are, the more prominently the book is featured (or something like that) and will help book sales for Mike & Joe!

I just bought it today and can't wait to start!  I was hoping to find Citizen Power or The Kingmakers too but didn't...I'll probably have to order those online or something

I LOVED The Kingmakers.  I

I LOVED The Kingmakers.  I don't see anything else I read this summer being able to top it-not even another one by Gravel.
