We Need Gravel to speak at Revolution March/Rally

We need to get Gravel to speak at the Rally following the Revolution March on July 12th.  There are many good speakers including Naomi Wolf and Ron Paul to name a few.  Even if only 10,000-15,000 people show up, how often does Mike get to speak to a crowd of that size?  Some people are saying that there will be over 30,000 but who know.  Either way it wiould be great publicity for the NI4D.  If anyone can contact Mike about being at this event, I think it would really help the cause.  Below is a link to the current list of speakers.

The repsonse from The Revolution March organizers

As I have said in previous posts, I have been emailing the organizers of the Revolution March and I got a response from one of them earlier today.  Here was their response.

WOW! It is SO great that Mr. Gravel will be in attendance! I can’t wait to meet him!  He is an American HERO!  I want to tell him about how the Ron Paul movement can’t get behind NI4D, but how they could get behind a “citizens veto” type plan.  I think that would be an AMAZING idea.  If Mr. Gravel would like to come on the air with us to discuss that, we would be glad to have him any time!  We didn’t really have time to get into it last time we had him on.

While the speaker list isn’t finalized, I think we would certainly consider giving Mr. Gravel a speaking position if we knew he would stick to issues that The Revolution can get behind like the war and civil liberties.  If there is any hesitation to have him speak, it would be because we believe that democracy is one of the most dangerous forms of government.

I would love to discuss this more with you or Mr. Gravel anytime.

Thanks!

Sincerely,

Ray Powell

' ...we believe that democracy is one of the most dangerous forms of government... '

Finally. A straighforward declaration of libertarian beliefs.

These are very dangerous people.

In the Works

The Senator has been planning on attending this for the past month. He will be present at the walk.

He's also a bit under the weather, but is making a speedy recovery.

We should have a meeting

We should have a meeting place for all the Gravel supporters and we shoud all march together.  This will be my first time in DC so I really don't know the area so I shouldn't be the one suggesting the location.  Any suggestions?  Who all is attending the march?

I'm trying to go, but not

I'm trying to go, but not 100% sure if I can.  I might also try to get John Murphy (www.johnmurphyforcongress.org) to go.

I'll post something on the Google group about this, too, and send a message to the email list.

Thanks for the pointer

Thanks for the pointer to John Murphy, candidate for Congress from the 16th CD in PA.

I wrote exhorting him to join the PVP.

I appreciate any other pointers to alternative candidates of any party.

Even at the Green site I cannot find a single listing of the people running for congress under the Green banner.

I think that the PVP can provide a common banner to all the alternative candidates without making ideological demands on any of them.

The prerequisites are support of the NI4d and of the Campaign Finance Reform Amendment and campaigining as though they were already in force. These are structural positions, independent of political ideology. Say you are member of the PVP and you are one.

Hopefully alternative candidates will join and the campaigns of Bill Barr, Cynthia McKinney, Ralph Nader, Gordon Clark, John Murphy and others will all be seen  as united in opposition to the staus quo and  as an alternative to the duopoly.

I believe it is essential for the spotlight to shine on the role of the duopoly and all its ramifications as The Problem.

It is good to support and to vote for any and all alternative candidates in that context.

From Michael Grant:  Mike

From Michael Grant:

Mike would be delighted to walk in the march with Ron. Whether Ronwill walk with Mike, this is not known yet.

I think I heard Mike say

I think I heard Mike say that he would be going once, but that's not a definite at all.  There are a few people around that are in contact with Gravel (even though he's currently pretty sick).  If you just post something in the Google group, and stick around the chatroom being persistent, I'm sure someone will contact him about it.

You ought to be more specific

You ought to be more specific, or not mention it at all.

If you are relaying information that is none of our business than you shouldn't have done so.

As it is you've left it up to our collective iimagination : cold, flu, cancer, stroke, heartattack....

Which is it?
