While there is a fair chance Gravel will get the nomination, there is also a fair chance that he will not. There's a lot of tough competition. (Thank you so much, by the way, to all of you supporters who are heading out to Denver to vote for Gravel!)
Should Gravel not get the LP nomination, do you think he should be the VP? I know what Gravel wants, but I'm curious about what you think.

Submitted on May 8th, 2008 by sgrimesYes, but this is probably for more personal than straticaly reasons. I don't care if Mike is the President (I mean...I do...but...okay, digging a hole), VP, in the Cabinet somewhere, or in the senate. He needs to be in there and I want him in there. I want people to HEAR HIM, to learn from him, and I think that should be done by whatever means possible.
Barr/Gravel

Even Mike can't convince me that Barr is better than Obama...
I'd probably vote green....

+1 point for you. I didn't even think about it like that.

Submitted on May 10th, 2008 by kyeotI think compromise was the down fall of the Democratic Party. There are somethings that you should never compromise on and i think Gravel making his choice to become President is one of them. We can all wish that someone like Gravel could stay in Government for us with his ideals and his fortitude, but I truely believe if we dont have the power to make him President now, we dont deserve him serving in the government period, we deserve these muppet politicians our lazy slackazzed support gets us.
Yes
Submitted on May 10th, 2008 by GravelFanNJSimple answer is Yes. Now, I am still believing that Gravel can win the LP Nomination. He has right now played his cards pretty well. Gravel is basically fighting Ms. Pornography (Sorry I had to) the LP Nun of how she is Lib. in Ruwart, the media/economics guy in Root, and finally Marijuana Man in Barr. Now, all three of them and also Gravel have their shortcomings for the LP Nomination.
Ruwart has drawn ZERO/ZIP Media Attention, while Barr, Root, and Gravel have.
The thing is right now I believe Gravel before the Convention needs to debate Ruwart too. So he has all his basis covered. Unless they know something that we don't about Ruwart's chances. Gravel's whole thing has been I am a former senator, I have foreign policy experience, eviromental experience, and of course the Pentagon Papers/ Draft. Also, though p
eople are expecting him to get media attention. Well with two weeks to go he unleashed a monster of a hit video with Obama Girl. It was on CNN, I believe Fox News, and some others. '
But yes I would take VP spot if I was him, why? I guarantee he would gain more attention for the LP then Paul ever did when he ran in 88. For Ruwart he gives that edge and mainstream appeal. For Root he adds the experience. For Barr he adds well that second punch a former Rep. and Dem. running together and two former Washington men.
