Gravel supporters in CT

I am a Mike Gravel supporter from Connecticut. At this point, the CT primary race is up for grabs, especially after Senator Dodd dropped out. Also, as far as I know, none of the Democratic candidates will be visiting or putting any emphasis on Connecticut. CT has 30 delegates and it is a winner-take-all delegate state. If the people of CT campaign hard in the coming weeks, we can make it happen!

I may be interested in campaigning depending on if I have some folks to help me out. Let me know.

Thanks

I have tried numerous times contacting the State Director via email and she never responds. I want to campaign for Mike Gravel in CT in the coming weeks, and I cannot do it if I don't have help from her. About the Yahoo! group, I am the owner of that group, so that doesn't help much. I am trying my hardest to drum up support for Sen. Gravel, but it is hard with no supplies or support. I won't give up though.

How About a Newspaper Editorial?

Maybe you could write an editorial (or editorials) in a Connecticut newspaper(s) explaining why you think Mike Gravel is the best candidate.

That is a brilliant idea! I

That is a brilliant idea! I never would have came up with that myself. Thank you so much! If anyone else has any ideas on how to win CT and its 30 delegates please post here or contact me at spurs72094@sbcglobal.net. A recent poll came out in CT showing Sen. Clinton with the lead with 41%, Obama at 27%, and Edwards at 9%. Sen. Gravel was not listed. Clearly, we have work to do, but I am willing to work for it.

I am going to write

I am going to write editorials to the major newspapers in CT. I wanted to come to everyone here to ask you what I should include in the letter? Should I include his take on the issues, his expierience, etc.? I don't want to make it too long though, I really don't want it to drag on forever, thanks!

Do Issues and Experience

I think you can do both. And if the editors put your opinion piece in their paper, there will most likely be a word limit anyways.

You can just state that with the Connecticut Democratic primary approaching, that you think that the man for the job is Former Alaskan Senator Mike Gravel. (thus alluding to his political credentials). You briefly mention how, in 1971, he both released the Pentagon Papers and filibustered for 5 months to end the draft. Then you could say how much you admire such rare political courage. Then you could briefly state how much you think he's right on the issues, and then briefly list his  positions on the issues. These positions are the way to go because these positions maximize freedom and empowerment for the American people.

How about something like that?

Sounds good!

That sounds good. I am going to start in tomorrow and hopefully have it ready for the papers by Sunday/Monday. I will be sure to include the link to this website for further information.

Please try to direct people

Please try to direct people to YouTube also.

Another idea, if you are up for it, is to do presentations about Gravel for groups:

Veterans groups

Rotary club

Church groups

Enviromental groups

Maybe see if you can interest communities/libraries into hosting mock debates.  In a true debate format Gravel's plans win hands down.

Trust me, I am up for

Trust me, I am up for everything and anything. I will look into all of that. I also may try to speak to the LGBT community in the state.
