Help in Oklahoma?

Hey,

I just recently jumped aboard the Gravel campaign and would really like to get Mr. Gravel's message out. I live in central Oklahoma, and virtually nobody around here knows anything about the guy. My firends already have their minds made up about who they'll be voting for, and so I really don't have much, if any, support. I also have pretty much no money to put towards this. I know I can make/buy a shirt/bumper sticker or whatnot, but how else do I really get him name out there?

                                                          Infinite Thanks,

                                                                Sarah

PS- It also came to my attention that his name will not be on the OK ballot, but that it is too late to do anything about this. Is that true, and what can I do? Also, if it is not possible to get his name on there, will there be a write-in option?

Mike Gravel/Get Local/Oklahoma at Campaigns Wikia

Maybe you Oklahoma supporters of Senator Gravel can get some use out of this page:

Here's a basic editing guide for Gravel supporters at Campaigns Wikia.

Good luck out there!

He's not on the ballot in

He's not on the ballot in Oklahoma for the primaries (neither is Joe Biden).  What I'm doing is voting for Midwest City native Jim Rogers (he's only on the ballot in one state-Oklahoma), in protest of the other candidates.

We have a group of about eight of us from Oklahoma at the yahoo group.  I'm passing out fliers, etc. here at Langston.  There are NO write-ins in Oklahoma, as they will eliminate your ballot completely.  The group is at:

Getting Mike on the ballot (he said he would stay in it until the end), if he were to declare Green or Independent or Libretarian is going to be an uphill battle, due to Oklahoma's backwords ballot regulations-failing to recognize third parties.  Be ready for an all out battle to get him on the Presidential ballot, if he bolts the Dems.

Donate, donate, donate.

Uggghhh.

It's so frusterating when you're not allowed to vote for the ONE person you see fit. Everything's just so fu*ked up. Well, I'm definitely willing to do whatever it takes to fight for election reform (and somehow get Mike in office), but I don't know how to go about doing so...

The link you posted didn't work... "Sorry, the document you requested is not available." Can you try to post that again, pretty please? I'm really curious about that guy now...

But yeah... if anyone at all can tell me HOW to fight this good fight, please don't hesitate to help a girl out. This will be the first time I'm able to vote, and I was really wanting to vote Gravel come February...

I'd love to donate, but I'm young and severely lack the funds... I'll see what I can do.

Thanks Kyle for bringing this to my attention... and thanks in advance for anyone else willing to help :)

Goodnighttt.

Mainly because I gave you

Mainly because I gave you the wrong link-

Jim Rogers is a retired 72 year old teacher from Midwest City, who refuses to take donations, makes his own campaign sweaters with ironed on letters, and holds campaign signs personally over Interstate bridges in Del City/Midwest City.  If I can't vote for who I want to, I'm sure as hell not voting for who "they" want me to.

The Oklahoma ballot reform NEEDS NATIONAL HELP AND ATTENTION.  We were the ONLY state to only have two choices in the last election, Bush and Kerry.  We don't even recognize ANY party outside of Republicans and Democrats and there's no change going on there.  I can't stress enough how we need NATIONAL attention and for the entire nation to laugh at us to get this changed.  The website calling for change in Oklahoma and how you can help is here:

I'm young, too...and in college-that's the breaks.  Four dollars=eight dollars now, with the matching funds.  If you can't help financially, just keep spreading the word.

oh, man... I think I know just what's goin' on here.

From the history section of okvoterchoice.org "57,781 signatures to secure full party ballot access and 37,027 signatures to place a Presidential candidate."  This has been going on since the early seventies?  It's a miracle that anybody would care about voting in OK... oh wait.  That's what they want, isn't it?

Towelie sez  "Don't forget to bring a towel, you might get wet."

Exactly.  It's been an

Exactly.  It's been an apathetic Republican state and there is no third choice.  I hope if Gravel is looking to leave the party that he will hurry so we can start on the 40000 signatures...

I second that statement. The

I second that statement. The sooner he runs for a 3rd party, the better his chances are. Anyone see that happening at all?
