Look,
I`ll be frank and honest forgive me if you find it harsh.
I feel you are costing us willing supporters DEARLY and DRASTICALLY by not Providing for us an ample Forum that contains an easily accessible Chat Room. I have raised and am raising an ARMY of supporters ready to converge and spread Mike`s message.
A great many of us have come to the conclusion that you need to provide for us the venue. I personally think you MUST DO THIS IMMEDIATELY.
Mike`s supporters are essential. If you limit how we communicate, it is nearly impossible to get things done.
I do not mean to be harsh, I am just dead honest. Do whatever it is you have to do, but get us a CHAT ROOM and become ACCESSIBLE TO US.
This is not Fair to MIKE.
Regards,
Adam Abeles.

OK HERE'S HOW TO HELP
Submitted on November 14th, 2007 by Peace CzarTo anyone who is frustrated by the current website and online presence in any capacity--the forums, the layout, anything and everything--please send an email to
elliott@gravel08.us
He is the Director of Communciations, and will forward your letters to MIKE GRAVEL himself. As we've said, Mike will listen if supporters express their concern. Title the emails very to the point; something regarding your website/forum/online concerns.
So please put these letters together ASAP, pass them along to Elliott, and this should catalyze the rapid change in website that we've so urgently been needing. Bear in mind that Senator Gravel is reading these, so whatever ill feelings you may have for Rob Ryan, please channel it in a constructive manner.

How old is this Rob Ryan
Submitted on November 10th, 2007 by The Morning ShowHow old is this Rob Ryan guy? Is he old enough for me to slap him into reality? Is he old enough to know that he needs to work for his money?
Heard Ron Paul supporters on NPR the other day. They were keeping track on the...HEY...donation counter, and all of them ended up donating 4X as much just because of the counter...
ARE YOU LISTENING ROB RYAN??? DO YOU CARE, ROB RYAN??? I'll be in Vegas (heard that's where you are at ROB RYAN) and maybe you and I should have a little sit down, DUDE! Or more importantly maybe Mike needs to be told what a lazy, noncaring mooch you are.
10% of all donations go to him and as a financial contibutor I object...has he been worth that?
JUST GET US A DONATION COUNTER DAMN IT. I'm at my wits end with some of these campaign people.
Mole, do I smell a mole?
I had heard that he gets 10% also

Submitted on November 6th, 2007 by bennessimoyes yes adam, we all agree. Why do you find it so hard to walk people through joining the irc we've been using?
To let all know, we've been idling and chatting in irc.blitzed.org #mikegravel since the last debate. 3-5 solid people in there most of the time.
I'm about to make a post about how to join it. So at least then we can have an unofficial chat. Though its obviously preffered that rob ryan create a page and links directly from the gravel2008 site. This is the best I can do, without some kind of access.
Check volunteer discussion for the walk through on joining the chat.
Keep up the good work everyone, and get ready to take it to the next level.
Peace :)

I don't know what Rob Ryan
Submitted on November 7th, 2007 by LegendI don't know what Rob Ryan is actually doing actively on the website, so are we in touch with the right person? We need better communication. So if he is not the right person to talk to, then rob needs to tell us who to talk to instead of saying, "no I cant do it right now." He needs to put us in touch with someone who CAN. If we're donating money and he's getting paid with it. I think we the people should have some say in how our money is used.

Submitted on November 7th, 2007 by Peace CzarAbsolutely agreed. I have heard that Rob gets 10% of fundraising? I don't know whether that is standard policy, but for the current scope of Gravel's campaign, I know plenty of supporters who would do it pro bono. Considering we're looking at the precious $1 million barrier right now, $100k is a pretty steep commission.
What I do know is that things need to get put in working order ASAP. Volunteers need to be organized and given orders. Why do I feel like I'm one of the only Gravel supporters in my area? Maybe I am, but the site should mobilize us pronto.
I'm refraining from any senseless angry venting, but expect the courtesy of some campaign clarification SOON. Perhaps from Rob Ryan himself? Everything just feels a bit lonely for a campaign all about empowering the people.

If there was some sort of cohesion and direction, we could pull the ship out of the storm. But as long as the storm still lingers, the waves will only get more rough.

Submitted on November 7th, 2007 by Peace Czar3-5, yeah.
I wouldn't know, but I bet Ron Paul has dozens of chat rooms going at any given moment with LOADS of people in each, organized and all around the country. A kooky libertarian militia. Where's the PEOPLE's MOVEMENT?

Just type in a username, and click on #gravel2008 in the drop-down menu.
I can't get this to work!
Submitted on November 6th, 2007 by BamaGravelianOn two computers today I've tried logging on this chat room and have run into problems. It often takes a while to load, and then I end up in #wikia, even though I selected #gravel2008. When I type "/join #gravel2008", it just brings me back to #wikia. This is so frustrating.
I'm with Adam on this. We really need an official chat room here. I wish I knew more about computers. benissimo (sp?) seemed to be knowledgeable enough to do something like this. If Rob Ryan is not going to do anything, is there a way to get some volunteer contributors into this?
You're not the first person who has had trouble with that chat
Submitted on November 6th, 2007 by JaywinI've heard of other people with the same problem. I never did, so I'm not exactly sure what the problem is. I'm guessing that you might have to create a username here first (it would take about 30 seconds!): http://campaigns.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Userlogin
Good luck!

Submitted on November 6th, 2007 by jflI don't know what you all use for irc... I've been away from MS operating systems for years and I assume that's what most of you are running.. I use X-Chat.
I point my chat client at the worldnet network, the server irc.worldnet.net. When I connect, I then /join #gravel2008. It's an empty channel, just waiting for you all to chat away.
If you don't know what irc is, or you don't have an irc client... what would you do if they did start an irc server here anyway?

Now that I'm hearing we're not even getting notified, it's ENRAGED me to the point of action! Why aren't there Gravel groups out there in the street like Ron Paul kids? Their candidate barely has a concrete platform, it's all rhetoric about the Constitution & Freedom. I go up to Ron Paul supporters and say I'm for Gravel. They are sympathetic and curious, but there be more of us to get them to understand Paul's massive flaws and the brilliance of Gravel's platforms. WHAT WENT WRONG?
Mike stands for things with such clear integrity and courage that this should be a no-brainer. So can we get the support and info from the CAMPAIGN??? It should be the other way round, ironic huh?

IRC channel is up
Submitted on November 10th, 2007 by k11uFor those who don't yet know IRC
IRC stands for internet relay chat and it's been around for ages.
it's a network and uses irc-protocol as opposed to the http-protocol
to use it you need an IRC client (software) all totally free and available to everyone.
http://www.mirc.com/ one of the most widely used clients. Download the latest version, install and set it up choose a nickname and so on.
from the options/servers menu of the client choose "Blitzed" as the irc network connect to it's server. In the bottom part of the client just type "/j mikegravel" and it will join the channel #mikegravel
so chat away.
