As author of Citizen Power in 1971, Senator Mike Gravel determined that much of what he wrote then is apropos in America today; hence, the release of Citizen Power: A Mandate for Change reflects the accuracy of his evaluation of problems then, his current position on a number of issues facing America now, and the process that Americans can undertake to become empowered as lawmakers in partnership with their elected officials.
While I’ve been outspoken in favor of the Impeachment of Vice President Cheney and President Bush since last July, today I’m announcing my very strong and unqualified support for Impeachment.
Senator Gravel will be part of the "Poli-Wood" Keynote Dialogue & Dinner, to be held January 21 at 6 PM in Park City, Utah. This panel will consist of leaders from the entertainment, business, and political communities in a discussion focusing upon the intersection of Hollywood & Politics during the 2008 Presidential Election season.
On Friday January 18, at 2 p.m. EST, Senator Gravel will participate in an informal discussion of Health Care issues with Dr. William Brody, President of Johns Hopkins University. The Senator’s interview will be one in the five part series Health Care ’08 – Search for Solutions. This series is presented by Retirement Living TV, Johns Hopkins University and the National Coalition on Health Care. The series will give Senator Gravel and others an opportunity to address the health care crisis facing Boomers and Seniors.
Alone among members of Congress, Senator Mike Gravel had the courage to take a stand that not only helped bring the atrocious Indochina wars to an end, but also made a great contribution to breaking the wall of secrecy that governments erect to protect themselves from their own citizens. I am of course referring to his release of the Pentagon Papers, properly called "the Gravel edition," which provided the public with a unique opportunity to become educated about affairs of state.
On Saturday January 5th, Senator Gravel will hold his alternative democratic debate live from snowy Manchester, New Hampshire. The event will kick off 8:30pm ET at the studios of MCAM Channel 23.

As you know Mike has been excluded from this and other debates, but Mike will not take this lying down. He will continue to fight mainstream corporate censorship by conducting his own debate. Mike will speak honestly and candidly about the issues that matter most to Americans. No double talk! No skirting controversial subjects!
Once again, the Mainstream Media has not gotten the facts straight.
MSNBC pundit Keith Olbermann has incorrectly declared that Sen. Gravel has dropped out of the race following the January third caucus in Iowa. This is not true, and Sen. Gravel is still an active member in this race. We are requesting that MSNBC and Keith Olbermann retract their statement, and issue an apology to the campaign for promoting blatantly false misinformation.
Again, Sen. Gravel has not dissolved his campaign, and has no intentions of doing so.

Mike Gravel will take his message of power to the people on the road as he heads out across New Hampshire in the Gravel for President RV.
From my family and staff, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the Kucinich family in this difficult time. Our thoughts are with them.
- Senator Mike Gravel.
A letter published today in The Des Moines Register by veteran political journalist Doug Ireland blasts the corporate media for playing games with the presidential primary race. Ireland assails the Des Moines Register for excluding Mike and Dennis Kucinich during this week's debate in Iowa.
Ireland writes: "By denying the opportunity to speak to Kucinich and Gravel, you disenfranchise the two candidates' supporters across the country, sharply curtail the range of views and ideas available to all U.S. voters in the national TV audience, truncate the debate of ideas, skew the debate to the right, betray fundamental democratic principles, and deny the right to equal access by candidates to the public's airwaves."
The entire letter follows after the jump.
