Gravel proves only real choice for Democratic candidate in 2008

Mr. Gravel took the high road in the bid for President in 2008 during his recent appearance on the PBS News Hour. I was absolutely glued to the television screen during the entire interview, and applauding all of his amazing ideas and plans for our corporate-battered country. He is the only real choice for President, truly. Compared to the money-grubbing antics of Obama and in particular Hillary Clinton, Mr. Gravel shines as an everyday idealist and realist. I know in my heart what our country so, so sorely needs right now to heal from the horrendous politics of the last mis-administration is a man, a leader, a thinker, an average Joe like Mr. Gravel. I am in my mid-40s and never have I ever felt so strongly about a candidate as Mr. Gravel. He is a true American.

Excellent interview all

Excellent interview all around....Was thrilled to turn on the television only to see Mike Gravel on PBS giving some straight and honest answers to the issues.  Wonderful interview all around!!

Some of the best coverage I've seen of Senator Gravel

Mr. Gravel, you have some big obstacles to overcome if you want to reach the white house, and all of middle class America should support you. You are the only candidate that I have heard on either side who actually speaks to the middle class. If I had money, i would donate to your cause, and I probably will give some. And that is saying volumes as i am just a poor underground coal miner and full time college student. Right now it costs me $240 a month just to get to class in gas. My car is broke down, and my girlfriends car is broke down, and we just cannot get ahead. My employer just cut our insurance, and I have expensive medical bill that I cannot pay. All of these problems are not because i do not work hard. They are because of the enormous burden put upon the middle class. i will graduate from college with $80,000 in student loans. When I hear you talk about what you would do as president, you give me hope that someone is fighting for the millions of people who are just like me out there. To hear your story of coming to Alaska broke is very inspiring to me. I to am broke, and would one day like to be in public service. You sir are a hero.

Great Job!!!

I really like the interview with PBS, they were very fair in the time given to Mike. I hope PBS will do more interviews with Mike. I also wanted to comment on the last debate. I thought you did great Mike and I wish the interviewer there would have given you more time cause he was obviously on your side. He was the only one to bring up your name in the post debate interview so KUDOS to him =) I look forward to see more of you. To also hint like the poster below me PLEASE keep us informed on your up coming appearances we are here to support you Mike but we can't do that if we don't know when your on. It also makes it difficult for us to let our family and friends know when to watch and hopefully change there minds if we don't know what is going on!!

Good Job on the Newshour!

Not sure if Mike himself will read this, but man- I just wanted to say a lot of what you said last night really hit home with me- so much more than anyone I know of that is running.

Actually a couple friends of mine first mentioned your campaign to me a month or so ago, which is why, while channel surfing last night, I stumbled onto the interview.  Not having cable or satellite..  it wasn't hard ti find.

I truely hope you get a chance to run for the office.  None of the 'front runners' are of any interest to me.  They all run on being experienced politicians, and that just turns me right off.

I really have a hard time believing these 'polls' too, because  I just can't believe so many people buy into this crap..  this 'the best candidate is the one that can raise the most money!' garbage.  He raises this many millions, she raises this many millions, and they all trot out the party line, or flavor of the month crisis'

I am NOT going to know what they stand for and are going to do to fix the tail spin this country is in by some fluff news morning show interview, or mud slinging add..  I am also a general public high school educated farm boy, and KNOW there are smarter people out there..  So I can't be the only person to see this.  I'd hope that I'm in the majority.. because if not, I really can only feel sorry for our future.

Ok.  got off track there.. sorta..  but I guess I just wanted you (or whoever may read this ) That I and hopefully many others feel the same way you do man!

I'm a broke, middle class, midwestern hick who rides a computer now, has less than thrilling people skills, but am willing to help where I can.

peace man.

well said

great comment...and spot on too...
