I have been a regular contributer to this forum for some time now and I have watched with some amazement how Gravel supporters have rallied together to promote their candidate.
We got him into the CNN debates with a massive display of people power and now, rumor has it that Joe Salmonese may indeed relent and invite Gravel to his HRC debate.
It is nothing short of amazing. if we can do this we can do anything.
I thing we need as much coverage as possible. Mike Gravel needs to be heard by all communities. I am shocked by the HRC, I'm gay and for Gravel. Money should not have anything to do with politics!
Yes, you are probably very right. Who needs HRC when our candidate actually is a champion of equality on all fronts.
Sen. Gravel will bust their current importance when elected President.
HRC is worried of all the funds that will be drying up as there are no more issues to defend. Soon the HRC is going to look like the hypocrites they are.
I do not know who has access to Mike Gravel's myspace page.
He/she should "post bulletin" about Mike being excluded from the debate and urging them to contact Dana L. Campbell, HRC and LOGO.
I have been messaging people on YouTube (I can only send 4 messages at a time, but I'm kinda suffering from insomnia and school is out for summer, so......) and leaving comments on YouTube pages that have posted Mike Gravel videos. Trying to get support and a lot of calls going.
I just called "Human Rights Campaign" at 202 628-4160 and spoke to gentleman who told me that he in fact agrees with us! He told me that the phone calls are having an affect, and that higher-ups are now aware of our concerns. He also told me that HRC is fully responsible for the decision to invite candidates. Therefore, we should continue to direct our outrage to the HRC. Keep calling, and let them know!!!

Have an event of his own to talk about LGBT issues.
Here's the deal. A couple weeks ago, there was an Iowa forum for Tax Relief, and Ron Paul was not invited. So what did Ron Paul do? He rented a room in the same building. I've seen the video: supporters actually marched down the hallway when Tom Tancredo was talking. And guess what, Ron Paul had double attendance. And Ron Paul received more attention and benefit than he would have if he had been invited.
So Mike Gravel needs to have his own event. Supporters should attend. And someone should record this event and post it on the internet. This whole snub could be turned into a positive for the campaign, and gain Mike Gravel more attention than he would have received by being invited to this LGBT event.
I'll bet Mike Gravel will receive much more attention by doing such a thing than Clinton, Obama, Edwards, and all the other Democratic Party candidates combined at their own canned production.
If Mike is still uninvited come August 9th, then California organizers should get as many Gravel supporters in the Los Angeles area as they can to rally outside the building where the forum will be held. If Mike can be there, even better!
1. Have signs that state Mike's positions on LBGT rights
2. Pass out campaign literature that details Mike's positions on LBGT issues
Rosie's family cruise is a great place to start. Dozens of couples wanting same-sex marriage Federal tax benefits afforded to all citizens automatically except us. I am proud to say I have given the max of $2300.00 to the Gravel campaign.
My understanding is they are looking at 1Q numbers (i.e. before the first debate even televised). 2Q numbers aren't released until early next week. It was because of the debates this quarter that Gravel's financial situation improved drastically. Basically, they're relating to the candidate before the campaign before most of us even knew him or gave money to him.
that's lol, how do they expect people to raise that much money 2 years ahead of the debate? granted the others did but this year is an obscene fluke compared to past years in this much money this early on... ive posted my letter already on the message boards here go read if you guys want~
All i want is the truth, why is it so hard to find?
I was so worked up I called both the network and the sponsoring
organization. I hope that Senator Gravel actually wants to participate.
If not, this effort will be for nothing.
The network is owned
by VIACOM (if that says it all), and is called LOGO. They can be
reached at 212 654 3005. This is an answering machine. Be brief and
clear. The sponsoring organization is called, ironically, "Human Rights
Campaign". They may be reached at 202 628-4160. When I phoned the
person I spoke to immediately mentioned Mike Gravel. Perhaps they have
been receiving a lot of calls?
IT'S NOT A LOSS, YET! CALL THE NUMBERS LISTED ABOVE...SEND THE EMAILS. REMEMBER, MIKE WASN'T INVITED TO THE JUNE, CNN DEBATE, EITHER. THEN WE MADE OUR VOICES HEARD AND GOT HIM IN...LET'S DO IT AGAIN!
Come
on everybody, we can do this! We've already proven that we can. Gravel
would have never gotten into CNN without us. He told us so. We have to
show the HRC that we are not going to let our candidate be
discriminated against!
Mike Gravel has laid himself out for the
gay community. He has said things that no candidate has ever said. He
has been ridiculed for his support for gays and he has not budged one
inch. Gay or not, it is so inspiring to see him standing us for gay
rights.
Let's mobilize like we did for CNN. Let's demand that our voices be heard. We cannot let Obillary run the show!!!
Stop and think -- does this make any sense??? It certainly seems like there is a hidden agenda here. I wonder if Viacom/Logo/HRC has been co-opted. I say Michael Moore needs to do some investigative work. The late great Jack Anderson would not tolerate this and neither should members of Gravel Nation!
Let's show 'em once again. It will only add to our groundswell of support for a candidate who doesn't back down for fighting for what is right. Let Mike speak!

Everybody with this group knows Mike.
Let Mike's opponents make fake at the event.
And the Media might lambast those participants.
The double-dealing Americans love to judge by association.
By not attending , Mike can pick up new support from **both**
