Maybe an opinion can change

Ron Jacobs is author of The  Way the Wind Blew: a history of the Weather Underground, I read this from him at                                               http://www.counterpunch.org/jacobs05212007.html                                                           As for the 2008 elections, organizing  for the elections is not our job. Leave that to the politicians.  Of course, if a candidate comes along who shares our desire  for immediate and unconditional withdrawal, then we should of  course support them, but our energies must not be diverted into  anyone's campaign. Let them join our movement to end the wars.  We shouldn't join their movement to get elected.                                                                                      I wrote to him: Don't you think Mike Gravel has more traction at this point than the student antiwar movement. Have you checked out what he stands for?                                                                  his reply: Mike Gravel is one such candidate.  However, if the antiwar movement were to focus all their efforts on him, it would most likely be another dead end road given the nature of electoral politics in the US.  He will not get the money that Clinton and Obama will.  We should focus on the streets--let them come to us                                                                                     I think we need to convince these kinds of folks that their support for Mike would help a lot.

MSNBC's National Journal ranking

I see they make mention that Gravel would remain in the ranking "As long as the DNC plans to invite him to the debates"

I've already signed the petition, but perhaps we should begin to write the DNC to make sure he continues to be invited!!!

Gravel is in the DNC debates.

That comment appears to be

That comment appears to be somewhat resentful and/or snide in construction.

I think its more important to be positive and not get caught up in distractions; although tertiary contact with the DNC may be worthwhile.

Don't get distracted from the facts:

Soldiers are dying in vain and get your Representative in Congress to respond to YOU and Mike Gravel's Legislative Proposal.

Stay focused on the goal. That would be most effective in adding credence to this campaign, I suspect. :-)

Good news!

Next important question:

How many people have called their Congressman and demanded they sponsor this proposal?

Call your Congressman today!

Be persistent! Call them every day!

Just like Mike's proposal with daily cloture votes, call them everyday!

They will yield!

They even thank you guys for the emails!

Heh

A rather snarky "thank you", at that. I'd rather they put up Mike's Bio in lieu of suggesting that the only reason he is there because of an angry "internet" constituency.

Time to write an email....

Nice Job, by all that made

Nice Job, by all that made that possible. When people come together, they will not be stopped! Keep up the Great work all! Power to The People! Keep on Trucking Mike!
