Fair Tax

What would happen if people stopped reporting transactions? How would they ever be caught? Income tax works because most employment can be tracked. I can't see what the major "buy in" is to stop a major black market. Please help me understand how this issue can be overlooked? Or am I missing something?

 The current Tax "system" is intentionally complicated so that the average tax-payer cannot figure out how to get back the dollars that their employer has withheld during the year.  The Fair Tax system is fair because the burden of accumulating the money that is needed to run the country will be SHARED by everyone, including those who come to this country as visitors and buy goods and services that they need while they are here.  Thank you Mr. Gravel for bringing this issue to the forefront.  I am a Canadian, with a Green Card since 1974, and I am completely in favor of the repeal of the 16th Amendment.  Every tax-payer should go to www.fairtax.org now and register and support any candidate who "sees the light"!

To hear Mike Gravel speak about Fair Tax really shows the type of man he is. This is very important in the lives of many Americans. After years of unfair tax by the IRS its time for change that will give our children a better education, give our sick a way to heal, and our elders to be a way to afford to live when they (I) retire.

He has won over the heart of this republican and I hope to here about other issues like illegal immigration.

This is an important issue for me, one of two I feel very strongly about. As Senator Gravel is the first (and so far, only) major party candidate to embrace the Fair Tax, I'm strongly inclined to support him.
