Senator Gravel Invited to CNN Debate

Senator Gravel would like to thank each and every one of you who worked so hard to get him into the New Hampshire Democratic Presidential Debate. This invitation is a direct result of the dedication and work of those of you who have stood up for this campaign in the last 72 hours. This is absolute proof that the people working together can stand up to corporate media and have our voices heard. Senator Gravel has said all along that this is your campaign and today your voices have been heard loud and clear.

Our work has only just begun. Again, thank you to all of you.

MSNBC problems

In response to MSNBC's slight of Sen Gravel I wrote to Chuck Todd (Chuck.Todd@nbcuni.com) and Marc Binder(mambinder@nationaljournal.com) who are in charge of there political coverage. I asked who they were to say the Gravel wasn't a legitimate candidate and why they were fighting on behalf of the so-called front runners, who I pointed out only held that position because the media keeps covering them at everyone else's expense. Here was the response from them "Ari,

I'll trump you in re: a personal response.

Here's our reasoning: It was a debate; instead of exchanging ideas and pressing points, Gravel resorted to ad hominem attacks. Frankly, his message was powerful enough without them. If you were Hillary Clinton, why would you put yourself in a situation like that?
Marc"

I have not yet responded, but I thought that in addition to my response, which will not be kind given that he basically said they are on Hilary's side (I mean why else would they care about her position), all of you might want to give these pundits a piece of your minds as well. Keep up the good fight. Things are already beginning to change.

Well from one problem to the next. Here are some phone numbers for MSNBC executives. They're kind of old and some might not work or might get you a different person that it says, but lets give it a shot. MSNBC's politcal director, Chuck Todd, who is hack, but that another story, deserves to know that its not his job to decide who the legitimate candidates are; its the peoples job.

Here was my email, just replace SOLDIER with whatever makes sense to you - registered voter, American, Mother, taxpayer, etc. and fire away.

Subject: If Gravel is not a real candidate for President then ...

Then I’m not a real SOLDIER! Who the hell are you to say that a former Senator from Alaska and Springfield, Massachusetts native is not a real candidate?  In what sense?   You haven’t seen his kind before so you’re a little taken back by his in-your-face style but for someone like myself who has to act on the words of others, he is as real a candidate as I have ever witnessed.   Here’s the kind of “real candidate” I’m describing:  the kind that hasn’t prostituted himself to lobbyists and corporate sponsors; the kind that takes principled positions, not positions of political advantage; the kind that speaks clearly and directly; the kind that answers questions and asks questions that America is asking, unlike your made-for-T.V. debates and "moderators". If Gravel isn’t a real candidate for President then I’m not a real SOLDIER!   Don’t ever discount the politically disenfranchised and the disadvantaged by portraying their champion as disingenuous.  Gravel’s name will be on my ballot for President in 2008 whether or not you consider him to be a “real candidate”.  It might be an absentee ballot from Iraq, it might be a ballot cast in person in my great state of California – but stand-by: Gravel is a real candidate. -registered voter

Give 'Em Hell!

I'm watching John Edwards

I'm watching John Edwards talk with Wolf Blitzer about HIS ideas for bringing the troops home. Basically, he just keeps dancing around, saying the Congress has to "stand strong" and keep sending him the same bill. THAT should be getting laughed at! Instead the media takes this repetitive language from empty candidates dead seriously. It's an abomination.

Mike Gravel for President in 2008

Another disgrace from MSNBC

I know you all have probably seen this clip with Chris Matthews and Keith Olberman, but if not, take a look. The man who was single-handedly responsible for ending the draft in Vietman is subject to uproarious laughter at his ideas for ending the war in Iraq. What a disgrace.

Mike Gravel for President in 2008

Yeah but Chris Matthews made a fool of himself

Yeah Swiharta, I saw that tape. But what struck me about it was that Mike, although a little surprised at what a punk Chris Matthews turned out to be, dispatched him so effortlessly. A punk is just a punk in the end. Matthews was the guy with his head in his hands. He was the one who ended the "interview".

I wrote it before but I'll write it again because it fits so well :

"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."

All all of that took place in the tens of seconds that passed between Matthews' opening and his retreat.

Give 'Em Hell, Gravel!

I think this should be the new slogan.  Short and to the point, and you can see right in it that this guy is not like the other guys, who are far too dainty to say "hell", and far too young and inexperienced to think of saying "give 'em hell" to someone.  Plus it lets people know his name isn't pronounced "gravel" like the paving material.

Give 'Em Hell, Gravel!

Hell hath no furry, like a righteously indignant American

Yes!  That should be his slogan. Gravel slammed the gavel on the sound-bite politicians that stood on the debate stage last week.  And Americans desperately need someone to upset the Washington apple-cart.  Give 'Em Hell resonates with more Americans than the media elite recognize.  There are a lot of angry Americans in this country as the result of our "representatives" on both sides of the aisle and hell hath no furry, like a righteously indignant American.  Our congress is guilty of gross negligence and dereliction.  As Gravel put it: He's ashamed of Congress.  So am I.  An experienced former senator and Korean War era Army officer is exactly what America needs right now.

Give 'Em Hell, Gravel!

The World people support Senator Gravel!

I,m from Portugal, sorry my english is not very good.

I see the performance of Sen. Mike Gravel on the democratic debate and I think America and the world need a person like Mike in the White House.

I apreciate very mutch the idea of a non imperialist America.

Unfortunaly I´cant vote because I´m portuguese, but I follow the US politic very close, and Mike is sensacional in comparition of the american maistream politic.

Bests regards from Portugal

Paulo

You can't vote but...

I mean you can still help can't you? I mean can't you find an American friend who supports Gravel and give him funding to give toward Gravel's campaign? I mean, I guess Fox News might see that as a cause for concern... but then they'd have to claim Portugal is our enemy... that'd be some argument.

Even if we should fail, let the ideals live on.

Lou Dobbs

Now, What a Better Person across Lou Dobb's Table than Mike Gravel... Really!

Everybody, Bang Lou & McCaffery's emails ;-)

Remember: "I'm Frightened" by my Peers around Me.

It is Up to You to Put Mike before Lou Dobbs... and Lets have a Serious Conversation ;-)

Lou is Desperately looking for a Leader to Toe the Line... I place Gravel above Perot... and Even Harry Truman--- The Buck Stops Here!

Cheers!

CNN DEBATE

I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF MIKE UNTIL THE SC DEBATE. AS SOON AS IT WAS OVER I STARTED GETTING INFORMATION. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO EXCITED ABOUT A CANDIDATE. I HONESTLY THINK HE CAN WIN. TODAY AT THE GAS PUMP I STARTED TALKING TO THE MAN NEXT TO ME ABOUT (GAS PRICES) AND POLITICIANS. I TOLD HIM ABOUT MIKE. HOW FOR THE FIRST TIME I HAD A LITTLE HOPE IN SOMEONE. HE'S GOING TO CHECK HIM OUT. THATS ALL I AM TALKING ABOUT. MIKE,MIKE,MIKE!!!!!!!!!!! THATS HOW HES GOING TO WIN. MARIAN

Gravel momentum brings Obama and Clinton to their senses?

I wish I could believe that. The Senator has merely gotten the respect he deserved all along.

What REALLY brings them to the debate is the horror they won't be around to answer Gravel's charges. They didn't fear Edwards or Richardson saying anything negative. They've been in the game too long.

Thank you and congratulations, Senator Gravel.

This is a huge victory for

This is a huge victory for the national debate in this country. Unbelievably, people were upset that he was ever going to be included in the SC debate! Now we have the two front-runner being forced to confront the issues that will be raised by Gravel in the NH debate, and by doing so, we advance the collective discussion of real issues in this election. Beauty contests are useless. Thanks god we have candidates like Gravel and Ron Paul to shake things up from the status quo.

Mike Gravel for President in 2008

National Journal, White House 2008 rankings: The Democrats

Dear Marc Ambinder and Chuck Todd,

I was referred to your page "White House 2008 rankings: The Democrats"
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16710815
and was amused at your tactic of not "ranking" Mike Gravel.

' Seriously, he was downright rude. Why should anyone agree to appear on stage with him? And why should any mainstream Democratic group invite him?'

He was downright rude? He criticized the other candidates' readiness to go to war.

War is worse than rude, if I grant you Mike was rude for the sake of argument. War is deadly. War is as bad as it gets. An aggressive war is a war crime, and those who start aggressive wars are war criminals.

Perhaps it's rude of me to point that out? Why indeed should any mainstream partisan of the war, or any of the mainstream media cheerleaders for war invite someone who will so pointedly tell the truth about them? Yes, I can understnd your point.

Mahatma Ghandi said :
"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win."
I'm sure you've read that before, bright fellows like yourselves.

We've got eighteen months to the election but I'm sure you'll very soon switch "up" to ridiculing Mike.

Then we'll know we're winning and prepare for the "fight".

We know we're going to win.

And you know you'll then be running around to get in front of the parade.
And to "lead" it. After all its all about money, isn't it?

Senator Gravel Sets The Tone...

After weeks of rejecting their invitations to the June 3rd debate, both Hillary and Obama have changed their minds and decided to attend the next debate. The pair of "Do Nothing Dems" changed their position less than 24 hours after Senator Gravel received and accepted his invitation. For weeks now, Hillary and Obama insisted they would NOT attend--but now they've abruptly changed their minds. I can only speculate as to their rationale---but me thinks it might have something to do with the fact that Senator Gravel is now gaining momentum!

Power to the People! Power to the People! Vote for Mike Gravel...Power to the People, right on!!!

TAIWAN IS ROOTING FOR YOU

GIVE THEM HELL SENATOR! Don't be polite when they cut you off. Tell 'em off. Say; "Will you let me talk?" Stay on subject. These media misfits are not to be trusted! They will throw you off your horse with bogus subjects to keep you from the real issues. Study British Respect party Galloway how he answers his critics. British are much better debaters.

Tackle 911 & AIPAC after you are elected, not before! Hint slightly at the perfidy though perhaps to get disgruntled voters that know about it & want to see it addressed. And if the presstitutes wanna defame you, just ignore the stupid insinuations. Stay away from Blitzer. He's a snake. Request a better person.

Why are you linking to leftist gatekeeper Amy Goodman only God knows. Bad connection senator! If you are for real, you're gonna have to show it in your integrity to not line up with the lying lobby.

Senator, you gave the lost Americans and us, the rest of the World for that reason, hope. Only with God's help could you ever win. Trust in him! If you are anything like Huey in the thirties, you'd better cover your back from the New World Order quick. Don't take planes! Get a full-scale professional guarding team day and night. They got Huey, JFK, Robert, Lil' John K., Sen. Wellstone, Sen. McDonald. You think you are bullet proof? Be smarter! PRAY! If God wants to spare America a little longer from Revelation 18, so be it. But I don't know if godless Americans really deserve it. Hope they do.

Senator Gravel. Your debate stirred me. Praying for you! Hope this will pass the censors. If not I will mention it on my sites!

OH MY GOD YOU ALREADY TALKED WITH THE SNAKE

Sorry Senator

My good advice came a little bit late I saw. You already talked to the snake, who was trying to encoil you in his "terror terror booga booga" osama bin laden retorics, trying to make you look "un-american!"

My oh my, what a media circus. You're going to have to change the media monopoly legislation as soon as you get in power [asaygip], if you ever do, and want to STAY in power that is. Ha! Of course, you will have the entire lobby on your neck if you do.

You're going to have to re-educate the dumbed down American people too, asaygip. To change education laws you may have to get rid of the entire Education department in one fell swoop, and try to find unadultarated officials and teachers. That may be very hard.

And you may have to de-Zionize the "Christians" there in America. That may be verrry very hard. They might string you up or stone you to death! Thank God most of us Chinese Christians don't believe in Zionism.

Then you may have to save the American Dollar. Trying to get rid of the Federal Reserve might be even harder than all the former. And if you will re-institute the gold backed greenback, it may be too late, as the Fort is empty, I heard.

You might have to institute a temporary dictatorship to save America, but of course the New World Order will deride you for being undemocratic, and wage World War 4 at you for leaving the global democratic New World Order fold.

Well if you get the American people to pray with you, it may be possible to swim upstream. Salmons do!

Thumbs up!

MSNBC - No RSS feed for Gravel - why????

This is total media bias. American's should be able to have access to all of the candidate's information; however, the major networks are excluding Sen. Mike Gravel. There is no RSS feed, no yahoo for Mr. Gravel, either. This is immoral censorship of the media. We depend on the major networks to present the NEWS. What happened to true journalism? The networks are more worried about entertainment than journalism. I plan to start a petition at http://www.thepetitionsite.com/ to address this issue. Please check the site in the next few days and sign up.

Bias Reporting at its Best

Just as CNN did with Gravel.  I am still see around big media on how Bias they are being with the whole Presidential Race. It saddens me, that in the 21 st century we still got these reporter or reporters wanting to be protect by our constitution on free speech, but yet there so bias its like we live in a communist country as if we are told on how things need to be and how to vote. As in this news story I found today on msnbc about Gravel. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16710815  Lets just say iI wrote the National Journal on how bias they really are.

Unbelievable

Wow, that article is chilling. It is extremely disturbing that some people actually prefer these "debates" to be nothing more than beauty contests, with no real debate taking place. Everyone else on stage danced around the issues, and I'm left learning absolutely nothing about their true views, other than that they are hiding something. Mike lays it all out on the table, for better or worse, and that's why I love him

Mike Gravel for President in 2008

Fed Up? Let Them Know--Here's How:

I agree with Van Buren---

That National Journal piece was way off base. In it, they ask: "Why should any Democrat agree to appear on stage with Senator Gravel?"

Hymm, let me think...maybe because no Democrat has been willing or able to effectively stand up to the Bush Administration.

And maybe because--after 7 years of letting the Bush Administration get away with murder--the "politics as usual" Dems could learn a thing or two from Mike Gravel.

After all, it was Senator Gravel who stood up to the Nixon Administration and read aloud into the Congressional Record 4,100 pages of the Pentagon Papers, thus revealing the awful truth about Vietnam War. And, it was Senator Gravel who used parliamentary tactics to successfully end the military draft in this country. So right off the bat, there's two excellent reasons why all Democrats ought to listen to Mike Gravel at a time like this. The current crop of "Do Nothing Dems" seem content to sit idly by and play tidily-winks with the Bush Administration...

As a member of the United States Senate, Mike Gravel didn't just use the Nixon Administration as a punching bag in order to advance his own career--instead, he used his imagination and his guts to come up with a way around the Executive in order to accomplish real results in the name of peace and justice for the People. Hillary and Obama have accomplished no results, and thus--I think they could learn a heck of a lot from the Senator.

If you feel the same way--then let the authors of this story know by contacting them at their e-mail addresses here and here:

Power to the People! Power to the People! Vote for Mike Gravel...Power to the People, right on!!!

Patience....

I am very happy to read yoyo's comment as well. The thing that made my jaw drop at Mike's "performance"in South Carolina is the calculated, deadly seriousness of the man. He's been there, done that. He's putting one foot in front of the other, walkin' to the White House. The man is standing up and doing what must be done.

Rants on this or that aspect of the ongoing disaster are apropriate to those of us peripherally involved, whose live's efforts are focussed elsewhere. Mike is giving lessons, this is a tutorial in action he's giving, not a request for direction.

Go Mike. We are behind you 100%. There is no doubt in my mind that we are watching you methodically march to the White House.

Mike doesn't walk on water. That's George Bush' "forte". Mike puts his pants on one leg at a time, just like I do. He's just made it his business, long time since, to work in public, to wrestle the beast back into line when it run as badly amuk as it had thirty years ago and as it has once again today. We're lucky to have men of Mike's character and determination among us. Mike will set a lot of us free. Wait and see.

Mike's comin' up all right

Well Mr Perfect Chaos Zero you've got it jus about right!

I'm sixty and that makes me an "elder" I suppose, I remember Mike Gravel "reading" the 4100 pages of the Pentagon Papers into the Congressional Record, unlike Dick Durbin and John Edwards and the rest who just shrugged and said "nothing can be done" while our nation was MISLED INTO A WAR OF AGGRESSION that has spread out in waves and since laid low every single thing we once claimed to hold dear!

Mike Gravel doesn't have a bigger chance than some people realize... he is without a doubt going to be the 44th President of the United States! As long as WE don't blow it.

Hillary and Barack and the rest DO have flies following them around, the flies have microphones in their hands so we can all hear the apples hit the road.

As for those who "play the odds"... anybody but Bush gave us nobody but Bush, and the same thing will happen again if you apply the same failed logic again. Given the choice of two zeros folks will choose zero.

Remember Blaise Pascal's analysis : given nothing to lose versus an infinite reward, play for infinity.

Well the choice this time out is the inverse : given the sure loss of everything and a chance, play the chance.

This Website is Getting Busy!

I am delighted to see this website coming alive..... Mike Gravel has inspired many like myself to get involved... and make fellow citizens aware of Mike Gravel's campaign.

The key now is to get Registered Democrats in your states ready to vote for him in the Primary races.

Mike's coming up!

It's still 2007 ladies and gents, we got a whole year to get Mike's word out and from all indications, it's happening. I hear people go on about Mike not having a chance at winning, that he's not well known enough and so on. But look at what's happening! Ever since the debate on the 26th, Mike's become an internet meme. Now, one might say, "it's just the internet", but what about the movie Snakes on A Plane? That movie was a roaring success because of the popularity it gained through the internet. Mike's pulling off the same, showing that unlike his opponents, he's part of the new world brought on by today's technology. The fact that he has his own friggin' youtube account proves this! Word will pass from internet whiz to old fashioned paper pusher, don't you doubt that.

I'm a youth in his early twenties and I feel that Mike is the type of president that would represent both, the younger crowd with his progressive, action-taking policies AND represent the elder population as well, with his years of wisdom and experience. Despite doubt many people have of Mike even having a chance at winning because he's so obscure, I think he has a bigger chance than most people realize. The only reason Clinton and Obama are so high in the polls is because of the media coverage the have gotten.

However, with Gravel's sudden surge in popularity, it won't be long before he's well known. Media goes for ratings and if they think having Gravel will get people to watch, he'll get more coverage! I know I'd be willing to watch anything simply because Gravel is featured! Mike, keep going to the debates, keep getting yourself out there! Don't back down and become a timid wussy like the rest of those punks up there! The reason for your popularity is because you're angry and you're not gonna take it anymore! Just like so many of us in America are! We're tired of Bush's bull's spit, just like you! We need someone who's willing to take action! Take the initiative needed to stand out and show people that you're not screwing around!

The fact that Gravel got on the CNN debate because of our support (I even called the 3 people on the list in that petition post myself and gave them a piece of my mind) is only proof that his name IS getting out there! Mike is one of us, a man of the people, instead of some obscenely rich, aristocratic donkey, he's down to earth and an actual human being. Not some blue blooded robot like Hilary and Obama, who monotonously drone so much crap, it's a wonder they don't have a colony of horse flies following them around!

I don't care if anyone thinks I'm rooting for someone who doesn't stand a chance, better that than rooting for someone I hate simply because they're the lesser of two evils, because they "have a better chance"! Voting for someone you don't like, THAT is what will make your vote not count! "I picked the guy who won!" doesn't make you special, it's not some commendable achievement, not when the guy who won is a bumbling fool who will lead this country further down the path Bush has been leading it so far! If you want your vote to REALLY count, go with your heart! Support Gravel and don't be afraid that you're putting your chips on a long shot. Remember, the greater the odds, the greater the reward if you win!

Remember, victory, goes to those with courage!

From internet meme to real-world phenomenon

Uh.... sorry to break it to you, but Snakes on a Plane was widely considered a box office flop. It cost about $30mil to produce, but only grossed about $60mil during its entire theatrical release.

I think we want to do a lot better than that! Senator Gravel's performance in the SC debate was awe inspiring, and completely exhilarating, and I very much want to see him as the next President of the United States! Everything that I have seen and heard from him indicates that he will put the American People first, and I am truly excited about him, and about the opportunity that he is giving us to take our country back.

Let's not kid ourselves, though: there's still a long road ahead. The Internet is an extremely important tool that we can use to coordinate, educate, and spread the word, but it's only one tool. So far, though, there have not been very many Internet memes that have broken out to become mainstream phenomena. Even the ALL-TIME most viewed video on YouTube has only had about 47 million views (or about 20% of eligible voters).

More than anything, to get Senator Gravel elected, you and I are going to need to break out of our comfort zones, and leave the relative safety of the Internet behind. Don't get me wrong: the Internet will be a VITAL resource, but Senator Gavel is not going to win if all of his supporters end up just talking to each other on various blogs. We'll need to make phone calls, to hit the streets, to talk to strangers, and speak in front of crowds. We'll need to develop flyers, pamphlets, graphics, and even television advertisements.

This is a tremendous project, and we have to know, up front, that we are facing some huge obstacles, but we can do it! Mike Gavel will be the next President of the United States!

Awesome news

I can't believe the response I'm getting from those I have sent the links to. This man excites people....when have we seen that in the last 100 years? The very fact that my son who lives in S. Korea even took notice of anything political going on in the US is impressive indeed. He was so disgusted when he left five years ago, if Mike doesn't get elected..I may never see him again!

I am so excited about the debates now...something I knew was my duty...but my enthusiasm level was in the minus category. Now I look forward to it with relish (and mustard too)

GIVE 'EM HELL

MIKE GRAVEL!!!

Mike Gravel & Ron Paul (Cross party ticket if all fails)

I like most Americans thrist and quench for the truth. But in today's world the truth is hard to find, it does not exist in the media, or Wall Street( Daily corruption), or in the White House or in Congress. Then came along a man that caught EVERYONE off-guard a man who spoke the truth NOT LIES or Half Truths or Pandering, his name MIKE GRAVEL! Boy was a glad to have watched this man speak in the debate (REFRESHING to say the least), then again on interviews with CNN, FLanders radio and then on CNBC (As he toyed with these sorry cast of characters).

Senator, welcome aboard and I will be sending you some funds, as I believe in the US COnstitution something these so called congress critters swore to uphold but do not do.

I make no secrets I also support Rep. Ron Paul (He stands up to the corrupt Federal Reserve the international bankers that run this country LOCK STOCK AND BARREL. This is the true POWER that controls all from Wall St to DC to the Media). Yes Senator The Military Industrial complex is part of the problem, the Oil companies and so are the lobbies. Especially the likes of AIPAC.

Rep. Paul like Sen. Gravel stands for the TRUTH how about that something MAIN STREET AMERICA can relate too. The Truth oh how refreshing it is to hear that word. FINALLY the truth has arrived and it will from the largest TIDAL WAVE of grassroot movement this country has ever seen via the internet! ITS time to shake this establishment , power to the PEOPLE!!

And if Sen. Gravel does not get the nod I propose an Independent run along with Rep. Paul this would be my DREAM TEAM DUO and many others across this land believe this also!!

Both agree to BRING the Troops HOME NOW!! And to change the FInancial fabric of this country and to bring back GOOD PAYING JOBS to the USA and screw the NWO!

Can you smell that people, its refreshing and its called CHANGE!! The establishment wants Obama or Hilliary because they FEAR PEOPLE like MIKE and RON. Go MIKE! Bring it home!

CNN Debate

Congrats to Senator Gravel. I look forward to hearing more from him and hope the surge in his campaign continues.

Hurray!

Now we know a fair Democratic debate will ensue in New Hampshire. Looking forward to seeing Senator Gravel on the Colbert Report. I first saw Senator Gravel on CSPAN's Washington Journal and have supported his campaign ever since.

Patience is a Virtue - Rebuke

I am personally a supporter of the 9/11 truth movement and also agree that the American people deserve to know exactly what happened and that a serious investigation needs to be launched, etc...

However, after reading some of the comments I couldn't stop myself from thinking how much of a crappy situation this is.  This is my observation...

All of us that have read enough by now to know what stinks in America saw this guy give a breathtaking speech the other night.  And now we have come to his website.  I'm all about free speech, but I think (especially after getting to know so much more about Gravel since the debate) he knows what's up.  He's running for President of the United States of America and was up on the Hill plenty in the past.  Give the guy some credit, please.  Does everyone that says, "Hey, Mike I think this is what you need to do" or "Mike, if you do A, B, C & D...then I'll vote for you", really expect him to be able to fulfill all of your requests?  Lol, you have to be kidding me.  Explaining and then convincing someone of the truth about 9/11 has to be about the most complex thing in the world...when they have been living their whole entire life in ignorance.  Do you seriously think even HALF of the American people could even grasp the thought that you are trying to clue them in on?

Why don't you give everyone, including yourselves, a break and chill on the hysteria.  It's been more than 5 years since 9/11...it's not like there's a big rush to get the information out.  American's are more interested in American Idol than anything you can spit out about 9/11.  Like some of my friends told me when I started telling them about 9/11 and everything else...they got so scared they told me, "Dude, you're the one scaring me and YOU sound like a terrorist."

Patience is a virtue, and I didn't say it was easy.  Why don't all of us who want the truth about 9/11 to come out, just wait until we have the power to do something about it?  Ever think of that?  Have you read any of the Mike's ideas?  I think anything that anybody wants to happen can happen if the National Initiative happens.  Isn't that the foundation of Mike's campaign?  Who are you to say what Mike as the candidate for the Presidency should or should not do?  He's telling you what he wants to do himself.  Try to stop yourself from talking before he begins to talk himself.  Give yourself a chance to actually hear the guy out.

Thanks,

 . Adam .

Right On...

I agree with Adam. While there may very well be more than meets the eye with respect to 9/11, it would be an awfully tall order to expect Senator Gravel to fold 9/11 truth into his campaign right now. Nevertheless, if there is any candidate on the roster who I believe will create the environment for more truth in government, it is Mike Gravel. After all, this is the man who published the Pentagon Papers.

Power to the People! Power to the People! Vote for Mike Gravel...Power to the People, right on!!!

9/11 Nutjobs

Alright, you 9/11 conspiracy theory nutjobs need to find another campaign to poison. I think Lobsterman has some forums up. Bye!

I have to agree, you are

I have to agree, you are associating this candidate with your own agenda. Don't do that. Mike Gravel knows what needs to be done in this country. Don't put words in his mouth or tell him what he should think.

Mike Gravel for President in 2008

Calling you out

Would this Joshua be the same Joshua Holland who wrote all of those utterly insipid Alternet.org left gatekeeping hit pieces on 911 truth?

911 truth is obvious and only takes a few days of research to figure out, at most.

It's the skeleton key to unlock the genetic code of transnational corporate kleptocracy and Deep Politics, and anyone who can't figure it out is stupid, delusional or bought-off.

If we don't use that key, and fast, generations to come will curse our name and consign us, rightly, to the lowest depths of hell.

Sorry for the logical fallacy of a (seemingly) ad hominem attack, but if the shoe fits...

What??!!!

Omg,  I have no idea what any of that means....

But I have to agree with the idea of bringing up 9/11 issues and debates this early in the running's could kill this movment before it even begins.

Yes I think a probe into 9/11 is a just move, but not to be brought up now.

We are the underdog, and we need to tread lightly for now, our numbers will rise and we will win!!!  But we need not give the media any fuel to the fire to burn us out.

Go Mike, Go!

I am so happy that New Hampshire and the rest of our nation will get to hear from Senator Gravel on June 3rd!

Thank goodness that Senator Gravel is willing to provide an alternative to what I like to call the "Do Nothing Democrats."

The more I hear from Hillary and Obama, the more I realize that they are just "politics as usual." Between the two of them they raised over $50,000,000.00 in the first three months of this year. That means that they are already beholden to the same special interests that typically run the show in Washington.

What Hillary calls "experience," I call cowardice and failure. What Obama calls "hope," I call deception. If you vote for a candidate funded by corporations, you hand your power over to corporations.

Mike Gravel's campaign represents many things--but fundamentally--it is about empowering the People. In our Constitution, the word "People" is always capitalized. I am sure that wasn't a mistake. Mike Gravel is not only here to give us a voice, he's here to return to us our Power.

Power to the People! Power to the People! Vote for Mike Gravel...Power to the People, right on!!!

Al-Qaeda is a MYTH

Mike Gravel should challenge false preconceptions about Al-Qaeda/Al-CIA-Da. There is basically no such thing as Al-CIA-Da. There is no evidence that Bin Laden (a one time CIA asset) who fought the mujahedin war in the 80s in Afghanistan against the Russians on the CIA's behalf, carried out 9/11. The FBI has no evidence to convict him, please check the FBI's own website.

The war on terror/war of terror is A MYTH based on the FABLE which is the Philip Zelikow 9/11 Commission report. The whole report is one big LIE & Mike Gravel needs to challenge this, by at least suggesting that there needs to be a new enquiry into 9/11, and the 'war on terror'. Including the CIA's role in creating, funding, and arming Al-Qaeda. This is a provocateured war of terror, a means by which the military industrial complex can create enemies and big federal budgets.

The evidence is in the public domain it requires people to add together 1+1 and make 2.

First things first

This is all very well and true. But the reality is that

1) Mike has no money

2) Mike does not have the votes/popularity yet

3) It is considered (among most Americans) that thinking the Government caused/was involved in 911 in insanity.

Therefore, right now, Mike, and the rest of us here should focus our minds and energies into making sure he becomes the Democratic nominee. It's almost impossible for it to happen now, and if we are distracted by 911, Imus, whatever somes along next, he'll never make the primaries.

If you've seen Mike's record, he's for reducing secrecy in Government. So if you make sure he becomes President, I'm sure he'll look into 911, and possible conspiracies.

Make sure he becomes President first !!!!

Agreed

Sounds like simple common sense to me.  Apparently, the terrorists did win and scared the crap out of the American people.  So scared in fact, that they can't even use their common sense to make real change.

Use your heads!!  The American public doesn't even have a real President yet.  How do you (9/11 truthers) expect everyone in America to beleive you when their President shrugs you off?  Focus people, FOCUS!!!!

Right on

No other candidate stands more strongly for truth in government than Mike Gravel. If you want more answers with respect to 9/11, then a Gravel Administration would be your best hope. But if Senator Gravel were to make 9/11 Truth a big part of his platform, it would make it that much harder for him to get his message out in the current media/political environment....

Power to the People! Power to the People! Vote for Mike Gravel...Power to the People, right on!!!

Keep 911 Truth out of it

I think mentioning 911 truth would be a terrible move. Establishment media and even the daily show are already trying to laugh Gravel off as a "crazy coot". Giving them that sort of ammunition will do no good. Better to stick to the common sense critiques that made him popular in the MSNBC debate.

Stick to "common sense"

I whole-heartedly agree. It's already going to be an upstream battle but bringing up the 9/11 stuff as part of the campaign would be synonymous with trying to swim up the Niagra Falls, IMHO. To say much more about it than "it needs be investigated further" would be political suicide.

My take is different

I don't want him to piss on the many third rails of American politics, I want him to turn a frickin' firehose on them, because this is probably the only thing that could possibly short-circuit the trauma-based mind control masquarading as "news" and "saavy consultancy about electability."

In fact, I will go so far to say that this moment and Gravel's candidacy may well be nothing less than our last Hail Mary pass chance to save the American republic and a sustainable future for the planet.  Of course, I said that about Kucinich last time, but I guess I'll give it one last chance.

The MSM and TPTB are going to dismiss him as a "crazy coot" anyway, so he might as well go big.

Ideally, and this is admittedly a very long shot, it would provide the catalyst for a wholesale cleansing of the perceptions of the American public, a strong enough jolt to snap them out of their solipsistic stupor and get this guy into the White House, TPTB/MSM/DLC/AIPAC be damned.

Otherwise, he's just going to limp along and NEVER get out of single digits - or worse, dog forbid, he might start to trim his sails and aim to be the politely cranky Jeremiah Veep of one of the blow-dried, Annointed Electable Candidates.

I loved Kucinich the last go around but now his soft-spoken delivery feels less like part-and-parcel of his message of peace but more like the genuflections before Power of a pistol-whipped Insider.

I want fire in the belly.  I want Gravel to keep cursing.  Really, in the all-too-polite Media Echo Chamber, where you can murder 700,000 Iraqis without consequence but you can't swear or show a boob without calling it the collateral damage of "wardrobe malfunction," the "hells" and "damns" were as substantive as his comments on the military-industrial complex and incipient nuclear war.

If we worry about electability, we get turned into the blow dried establishment candidates.  If we go big, we can ignite something so powerful it simply does an end run around the entire edifice of all of the systems for control over the masses perfected over the last few decades.  And we sorely need for this happen, this moment of courage, or else everything Chalmers Johnson says in Nemesis and Morris Berman says in Dark Age America and everything Gore Vidal says all the time etc etc will come to pass, exactly as forecast.

And there is less to fear in confronting 911 truth and other controversial topis than we think.  Recent polls say 1/3 of the American people think the feds had foreknowledge and/or complicity with 911 and look at the traction Rosie O'Donnell of all people got with her recent 911 truth-telling.

The people are ripe for Truth.  In bigger bites, bigger doses.

Focus on more important things

Exactly! We need to see the Mike that has strong convictions. The Mike who is a leader. The Mike that put the others to shame in the last debates. Going into conspiracy theories (however valid and truthful they are) is a sure way to get people to shrug you off. Mike doesn't need to be marginalized by the media. (Remember, even a funny yell

Mike Gravel is bringing a powerful message to the forefront of the 2008 race. He brings a strength and common sense that we have not seen from a candidate in my lifetime.

I sent my email to TPTB

Glad it helped!  Let's keep him in the debates.

I would really, really like to hear him up the ante, discuss 911 truth, AIPAC's influence on middle east policy, abolishing the Federal Reserve, expound further on the failure of the drug war, etc.

911 Truth and AIPAC

Yeah, good to know my repeated phone calls to the CNN fat cats did some good.

I second stonefruit! Someone needs to mention 911 truth, a movement supported by a majority of Americans on the right and left and a majority of people around the world!

Especially when we risk FASCIST RUDY coming to the White House! His lies must be exposed! He was IN WTC 7! then he fled RIGHT BEFORE WTC 1 and 2 COLLAPSED! Plus: he SAYS he was on the phone with DICK CHENEY at the time!

GO GET 'EM MIKE!!!!

I concur

The 9/11 Truth Movement is not going away. Until there is a real investigation into the countless anomolies of that day, we will not rest.Senator Gravel appears to be a man of courage. I hope that he proves this by rising above the cowardly liberal stance of, "Well you can marginalize me as a liberal, but at least I'm not one of those kooks who believe that the government was in on 9/11."I will respect his need to tread very carefully with regard to this issue, but I hope that at some point he will express the need for a full and thorough investigation.

The full and thorough investigation

Has already been done, by the people.  It's assiduous research just needs to be recongnized as - here is the literally magic word - "credible."

Who will take the first step towards that absolutely inevitable conclusion?
